Finale

I loved the final episode. I think Chase did a great job with it, especially with (poor?) Phil. That scene alone made me cackle in glee at his demise. “Wave bye-bye to Grandpa”.

Bye-Bye Sopranos

David Chase is just so mental. Once I realized that the cable wasn't knocked out, I freaked out a bit about the ending. But, the more I thought about it, it was a typical ending for Chase. Everyone is expecting a HUGE bloodbath, but, with Phil falling under the car and getting his head crushed like a grape, it kinda removed him from power. That was all Tony needed to move on with his operations and his day to day routines.

I've heard of a possible prequel but I am happy with it ending just like it did - POOF!

Sopranos

Major Spoilers below.

HOLY SHIT on a sandwich!

Oh my GAWD. They killed Bobby! You bastards! I guess he's visiting the big club car in the sky. Poor little Dominica. Janice - ehh, she sucks but I do feel so sorry for Bobby Jr and Sofia. Can you imagine life with Janice? Oy.

And what about Silvio? Holy crap. I loved that scene, especially with all the topless dancers from the Bin running around outside and screaming. How often does one giggle while watching a mob hit. Didn't the part of the scene when Sil was fumbling for his gun remind you of the scene when he was going to kill Ade and she was scrambling to escape? I felt so sorry for the poor bastard on the motorcycle. Not only is he thrown off his bike after hitting a car, he gets rolled down the road, AND, to add insult to injury, he is run over by another car. Man, David Chase is one sick mofo.

AJ - can he get ANY more annoying? His depression? Pulease, cut me a freakin' break. Too bad that his rope was too long when he was swimming in the pool last week. He's such a tool.

Anyone have predictions about who gets it next week? I have "heard" that either Meadow or Carmela gets whacked.

Sopranos

Possible spoilers below

I had a hard time with last night's episode. Actually, I thought it was kinda boring. A few scenes were good.

- the scene with Tony and Chrissy stealing the wine from "the Vipers".

- Husbandie getting the shakedown from the new priet in the church. Heh.

- The scene with Carmella and Ade's mom. Whoa, that was painful to watch.

- St Elzéar – “Patron saint of zeppoles” - Husbandie, best line of the night. Have any of you been to an Italian fair? Oh my GAWD - I looove zeppoles. YUM!

- Janice, please GO AWAY! We all hate you.

- Bobby vs Husbandie. Bobby seems so sweet but it's creepy to watch him switch back and forth from doting daddy to murdering mobster. ::shudder::

- Why is it that I feel sorry for Husbandie? He's SUCH a prick! I did like the fact that he is going to reconcile with his [Not] Mom and her new tv.

- Anyone catch what Christofuh said when he saw the house with his new bride? "Stately Wayne Manor" - gotta love to homage to Batman!

- I found this from Television Without Pity and I couldn't have said it any better:
The only good thing has been the slow decline of Christofuh without the stabilizing influence of Ade. As one poster noted, without her, he is just another asshole. One episode he's cokin up, chasin' hookers, and assaulting old ladies for marble ryes, and then the next he's doin' H with Mr. Bilingual Junkie Contract Killer Guy. Great stuff

- This scene made me totally crack up. Christofuh is in the Bing, telling the guys (Tony, Sil, Husbandie..)about his marriage. They start discussing family and the importance of children and being grounded, good wholesome family guys that they are....as the stripper in the background winds her way upside down on the pole. Too freakin' funny!

Artie Artie Artie...

Looks like Artie has issues off screen as well.

He plays a chef on "The Sopranos," but John Ventimiglia cooked himself a recipe for disaster when he was busted for drunken driving and cocaine possession yesterday about a block away from his Brooklyn home.

The actor, who stars as New Jersey restaurant owner Artie Bucco on the hit HBO series, admitted to cops he drank four glasses of wine at a Manhattan eatery before getting behind the wheel of his 2004 Volkswagen Jetta and driving home.

Cops spotted him with his headlights off and weaving in and out of the oncoming traffic lane on Seventh Avenue in Park Slope at around 1 a.m., authorities said.

When officers pulled him over, Ventimiglia was unsteady on his feet, his eyes were bloodshot and he reeked of alcohol, according to the criminal complaint.

Prosecutors said the star had a blood-alcohol content of .12. The legal limit is .08.

The boozed-up actor also had a zip-lock bag with cocaine residue in his back pocket, cops said.

Ventimiglia, 42, was arraigned at Brooklyn Criminal Court yesterday on charges of DWI, reckless driving, operating outside the lane, operating without headlights and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He was released on his own recognizance.

Sources said Ventimiglia later maintained he had a couple of glasses of wine at a Long Island City art gallery opening. The actor claimed he had found a parking spot near his Park Slope apartment and had turned off his lights as he tried to pull in.

He said he couldn't park the car properly, so he drove around the block to look for another spot with his headlights turned off. That's when, he claimed, police picked him up.

Ventimiglia's character has been on a downward spiral from mild-mannered restaurateur who is best buddies with mob boss Tony Soprano to resentful loser.

After his restaurant was blown up at the end of the first season, Bucco appeared to be stuck in an ongoing mid-life crisis, prompted by a crush on the sexy Adriana La Cerva, one-time fiancée of mob captain Christopher Moltisanti, before she was rubbed out last season.

But last week, Ventimiglia really got a chance to flex his acting muscles in a critically acclaimed episode where Bucco beats up the Soprano wiseguy responsible for a credit-card scam at his flagging restaurant.

The episode ended with Bucco returning to his kitchen to cook up a rabbit he had shot in a rage in his back yard.

Yesterday, the "Sopranos" co-star arrived at his Park Slope home after a night in the slammer, looking unshaven and with two unidentified acquaintances.

The actor, wearing blue jeans and a black jacket, declined to comment to The Post as he quickly rushed to get inside his apartment.

His lawyer, Benjamin Petrofsky, did not return a phone call seeking comment.

Ventimiglia, who has appeared on Broadway, as well on numerous television shows during his nearly 20-year career, became the face of a range of cookbooks, pasta sauces and other Italian food delights aggressively marketed by HBO after "The Sopranos" launch.

Ventimiglia is the latest of a slew of the mobster serial's stars to find himself on the wrong side of the law.

Lillo Brancato Jr., who played Matt Bevilaqua, was charged with murder after he and an accomplice gunned down a cop after he interrupted them robbing a home for drugs.

Tony Sirico, who plays Husbandie Walnuts, was arrested 28 times before becoming an actor.

Robert Iler, who plays Anthony Soprano Jr., pleaded guilty to misdemeanor larceny in April 2002 after cops arrested him and three other teens for stealing $40 from two victims on a Manhattan street.

Vincent Pastore, who played Sal "Big Pussy" Bompensiero in the show, pleaded guilty to punching his former girlfriend last April and was sentenced to 70 hours of community service.

Sopranos

Spoilers below

I've got to say that tonight's episode didn't float my boat.

AJ - Give it up Junior. You are an idiot. His hair looks much better and he (almost) looks appealing. I did laugh when he arrived to take care of Uncle Joon, all bundled up with his big bad hunting knife. Whatta wimp. It looks like he's only good at snorting coke and fainting having panic attacks.

Tony - Opening the show with Tony Soprano having sex is really not what I'd care to watch. All that snorting and puffing...ewww.

Vito - Just the name of this episode "Johnny Cakes" made me snort.

I've got so much going on right now - I'll write more later!

Sopranos

Spoilers below

OH my GAWD! Did anyone else totally laugh out loud when Chrissy punched out Lauren Bacall? I've heard there were quite a few show biz folks who'd like to do the same thing.

Sir Ben was brilliant. The best scene was when he realized he was on the same plane as Chris-TU-fer. "FUCK!" Bwahaha. How about when Chrissy was peeking at him through the crack between the airplane seats? How creepy was that?

Man - did Artie grow a set of cajones or what? I can't believe he beat the snot out of Benny.. and won. I remember a few seasons ago when he confronted Jean-Philippe and got the piss beat out of him.

I was also thrilled when Artie shot the rabbit (Kill da wabbit! Kill da wabbit!) Those things are like rats - ugh!

One more great Artie moment - when he and Charmaine are standing there, waiting to greet their customers. Once the doors are opened, all these old folks shuffled in and the look on Artie's face was priceless.

So - what was your favorite moment from last night?

Sopranos

Spoiler alert

Interesting episode tonight. I am thinking the theme is obviously related to weakness and men.

* Tony's injury
* Johnny Sack's emotional meltdown
* Vito's penchant for scantily clad male dancers. Oh, and Vito in drag? Arrggghh! My eyes..

* Best (head)line of the night - "Don Squirrel-leone" on the front page of the paper. Husband and I totally cracked up!

* Great line:
Groom to be: Thanks John
Johnny Sack: What?
GTB: Errr.. thanks... Dad.

God - I love Johnny Sack.

Did anyone else think that the groom was going to shove the cake in Allegra's face? I was hoping Johnny could beat the shit out of him. LOL.

Husband brought up a good point regarding Chrissy and those two Middle Eastern guys - he thinks they are cops or feds trying to set Chris up. Oooooh... I didn't even think that!

So - did Vito kill himself in the motel or is he waiting to see if he's going to be ratted out?

AJ's girlfriend, while smoking a cigarette, refused to eat seafood due to "all the toxins" in it. DUH!

Tony and Carm dancing so closely while Vito and his poor wife danced like they were in 6th grade.

Did anyone feel sorry for poor Ginny fainting at the wedding? Oh man.. what a way to end the wedding.

Ok - so what's YOUR spin?

The Sopranos

Recap of tonight's episode...

1. It was all about Husbandie tonight. I almost felt bad for him.. and when he was crying in the hospital... oy... What about the scene with the tv going out the window? I totally cracked up when, as it hit the ground, the old lady in the electric wheelchair, just motoring along, never stopped. Bahahahaha!

2. What the hell was up with the insurance company? I was ready to toss that chick off my television! I loved what Tony called her - heh. She was SO that C word.

3. Hal Holbrook! LOVE him!

4. Anyone else think the bear was going to show up when Tony walked out to the pool?

5. What's the deal with dinosaurs? Hmmm - foreshadowing for what will happen to the "family"? I wonder....

6. Best line of the night "Fleshy part of my ass". Oh, thought of another one "You shot me in my ass!" ::snicker::

7. I love Tony and Carm when they are happy together. How cute was it when he called her "Blondie" and thanked her? Awwwwwwwwwwww!

8. Jason Barone - you dummy. Now, you are royally screwed. I did notice the long looks between him and Meadow. Hmmm - maybe she can dump that weasel Finn...

9. Another great line "The carting industry has its own culture." No shit. Talk to Jason and his kneecaps.

So - what else sturck you as noteworthy? Leave me a comment!

The Sopranos

Spoilers below.

MAN! Each episode gets better and better!

*I love Husbandie Walnuts although I did feel bad for him when he got kicked in *his* walnuts. I wanted to grab for my balls and I don't even have any balls! And, the scene in Tony's hospital room? I loved houw Husbandie essentially annoyed Tony out of his coma. Great scene.

*Vito continues to creep me out. I hope someone caps his not-so-fat ass soon. How about when he put his hand on Finn's wrist? Man, I got goosebumps! Eeeek!

*Poor Silvio. The pressure got to him pretty quickly, the poor bastid.

*Chris and his movie business? Bwahahahaha! CLEAVER? Oh my GAWD! The pitch session for his movie - PRICELESS!

*Carm and Dr. Melfi - I'm so glad they got together. Carmela might actually take some responsibility...

*House = Hell? I loved seeing Tony B as the escort into the house. How about the little girl aka Meadow calling for Tony not to go. Did anyone notice the old woman in the house. Livia perhaps?

*Husbandie and Vito having to pony up the moolah to Carm. Just the looks on their faces - priceless!

*"Sometimes I go about in pity for myself, and all the while a great wind carries me across the sky" - Ojibwe saying that was on Tony's message board in his hospital room.

*SO glad Tony is awake. I couldn't belive Chrissy's attitude with Tony.. all because he basically narked on Ade? Jerkwad.

So - anyone want to share their opinion of tonight's show?

Sopranos

May contain some spoilers - read at your own risk!

Tonight's episode was brilliant... I can't wait to watch it again on Tuesday.

*I loved the whole limbo theme - Mobster Tony vs Precision Optics Tony, heaven/hell... In the beginning of the show, did anyone catch the first bright beacon of light that shone on Tony? Did you see the doctor shining a light on him? Very cool indeed!

*Two words - Van Helsing. Husbandie rocks. I totally cracked up with that line.

*Tony - watch out for Not-So-Wide Guy aka Vito. He's up to no good.

*Edie Falco totally deserves an Emmy for tonight's performance. I was tearing up just watching the hospital scenes..

*I hate Janice. She's a selfish bitch. All that sobbing and poor Carm had to console her? WTF?

*SO happy to see Ro back although Carm was a mean bitch to her. Ro was on the money with her assessment of AJ. Carm got her panties in a knot about it and zipped her with a very cutting remark about Jackie Jr. Ouch.

*AJ calling Uncle Joon a "mummy head". Personally, I think Uncle Joon looks like the Six Flags dancing guy. What do you think?

Sopranos

Spoilers and discussion below.

Holy crap! What a way to end the first show. I had heard that someone bites it in the first - guess that rumor was true! Phil is such a sneaky bastid. Hesh's son in law - that poor slob. Beat up AND hit by a car. Uncle Junior is derranged. I totally called what was gonna happen to Tony. I said to Husband "Joon is going to shoot him!" And, he got shot! I felt bad for Eugene and his family. The scene where he hung himself - Oh man, that was awful.

What is the deal with the sushi? Why was that so predominate in this episode? Is it that Tony and Carm are so wealthy they can eat there all the time?

OK - so what did YOU think of the season premiere of The Sopranos?

Successful so far

So far, I have been hiding from most of my fave bloggers because they all have spoilers about the Sopranos!

After I brought the girls to school, my friend and I went to IHOP for breakfast. Mmmmm. IHOP. We chatted for a while and had a lovely time. We headed back to school to pick up the girls. O and I went shopping at TJ Maxx and I actually found some adorable little dresses for her. Of course, I was looking for birthday gifts for Mom and P. I wonder what the girls and P bought for me for <i>my</i> birthday? Maybe something off <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/registry/PY57BYA70TD/ref=cm_wl_sortdropdown/102-0917398-">my wishlist</a>!

Sopranos

Spoiler below

Ok - so who freaking cracked up at the funeral scene with "Peeps" on the headstone? P and I just busted out laughing. What about Johnny Sack? Holy crap . He is one scary individual. He's gonna have a goddamn heart attack from being so damn angry! I think that Tony B is gonna go... Tony S cannot keep having panic attacks every time the topic of his cousin - Tony Uncle Al (lol - I love that) comes up in conversation. He can't be weak. The scene with Tony C and Dr. Melfi was incredible. I love how Tony compared therapy to "taking a ****". Who got tossed into the river? Was is a flashback with Ralphie? Didn't they toss him in the water? WHat about Vito? Holy **** - when he picked his head up out of that security guard's lap, P and I both said "DAMN!" Finn proposal to Mead? Totally to save his scrawny but cute ass. He looks so much like a young Joe Perry! Anyone else see the parallel of Tony and the bear? Carmela can't get rid of either one of them and they are both very dangerous.
But, my favorite scene is when Tony and Carmela are in Artie's restaurant. "I just want what I am entitled to" with Tony's response: "You're entitled to ****." Priceless.

Great Soprano Quotes

All borrowed from IMDB

[Tony urges Dr. Melfi to get out of town for a while]
Dr. Jennifer Melfi: I have patients who are suicidal!
Anthony 'Tony' Soprano Sr.: Well they're not gonna feel any better about their life if you get clipped.

Bobby "Bacala" Baccalieri: The world really went downhill, since 9/11. You know, Quasimodo predicted all of this.
Anthony 'Tony' Soprano Sr.: Who did what?
Bobby "Bacala" Baccalieri: You know, the middle east. The end of the world.
Anthony 'Tony' Soprano Sr.: Nostradamus. Quasimodo's the hunchback of Notre Dame.
Bobby "Bacala" Baccalieri: Oh, right. Notredamus.
Anthony 'Tony' Soprano Sr.: Nostradamus and Notre Dame, that's two things different completely.
Bobby "Bacala" Baccalieri: It's interesting that they'd be so similar, though. You know, I always thought "Ok, you got the hunchback of Notre Dame. But you also got your quarterback and your headback of Notre Dame".
Anthony 'Tony' Soprano Sr.: Notre Dame's a fucking cathedral!
Bobby "Bacala" Baccalieri: Obviously, I know. I'm just saying. It's interesting, the coincidences. What, you're gonna tell me you never pondered that?
Anthony 'Tony' Soprano Sr.: No!

[After Matthew Bevilaqua tries to clean up cheese from Silvo Dante, and Silvio goes ballistic]
Matthew Bevilaqua: I'm just trying to clean the cheese from your feet.
Silvio Dante: Why now? Huh? Leave the fucking cheese alone. I stick mother fuckin' provolone in my socks every night so they smell like your sister's crotch in the morning. Now get out of here!

[Tony disapproves of Meadow's new boyfriend because he is black]
Carmela Soprano: If you want her to be with him, just keep playing the race card. You're gonna drive her right into his arms.
Anthony 'Tony' Soprano Sr.: Not if I cut off those arms.

Anthony 'Tony' Soprano Sr.: Maybe I should tap into my roots, too. My grandmother was half Indian.
Christopher Moltisanti: Get the fuck out of here.
Anthony 'Tony' Soprano Sr.: No, it's true. She was in the Fakawee tribe.
Christopher Moltisanti: Oh, yeah?
Anthony 'Tony' Soprano Sr.: Yeah. When they used to get lost in the woods, they stopped and said "Where the Fakawee?"

[Chris and Husbandie just botched a hit on a Russian gangster, and are lost in the woods. They call Tony, and get a bad reception]
Anthony 'Tony' Soprano Sr.: Listen to me, this guy was a Russian green beret. He was in the ministry of the interior or something. He single-handedly killed 16 Chechen rebels. Be fucking careful.
Husbandie 'Walnuts' Gualtieri: All right.
[hangs up]
Christopher Moltisanti: What did he say?
Husbandie 'Walnuts' Gualtieri: He said the guy killed 16 Czechoslovakians, and he was an interior decorator.
Christopher Moltisanti: Interior decorator? His appartment looked like shit.

Teittleman: Mr. Soprano, he hit my daughter. You have a daughter, right?
Anthony 'Tony' Soprano Sr.: Yeah, I do.
Teittleman: What would you do if someone hit your daughter.
Anthony 'Tony' Soprano Sr.: I'd go talk to him...
Silvio Dante: With a ball peen hammer.

Husbandie 'Walnuts' Gualtieri: Hey, Sil. You remember your first blowjob?
Silvio Dante: Oh, yeah.
Husbandie 'Walnuts' Gualtieri: How long did it take for the guy to come?

Federal interrogator: You prefer Corrado or Junior?
Corrado Erico 'Uncle Junior' Soprano: I prefer mr. Soprano.
Federal interrogator: Your tenure as boss was a short one. Actually, it was unusual in several ways. Let me put this to you as simply as I can. You can avoid sentencing on these charges if you will testify that in fact, you were not the boss of North Jersey, that in fact, your nephew Anthony Soprano was and is. That he de facto controlled your capos with the backing of two of the new york families communicating through their emissary, John Sacrimoni. We want Johnny Sack. But more than him, we want Mangano and Teresi.
Corrado Erico 'Uncle Junior' Soprano: I want to fuck Angie Dickinson, let's see who gets lucky first.

Dr. Jennifer Melfi: Have you ever had a prostate exam?
Anthony 'Tony' Soprano Sr.: Are you kidding? I don't let anyone wag their finger in my FACE

Wow

Soprano spoiler below..

Man - very powerful tonight.

Junior's Alzheimers and mini strokes. Scary. What a nightmare for families to deal with... I thought he might jump off the bridge when he was walking across. When Tony asked Junior if he still loved Tony, I started to tear up at Junior's reaction/
Janice is a slob - she pisses me off every episode. And poor Bobby. He had better get rid of Janice ASAP.
Chris-TA-fur is a moron. What the hell is he thinking trying to offer Johnny Sack advice? Sheeesh. And someone better hand Johnny a 2x4 to kill the bug that's up his ass. What a ****er.
Feech and Pie - poor Sal Vietro getting the crap beat outta him by Feech. Man, does Feech have a grudge or what? How about when Pie smacked that dude up the head with a shovel? Jesus, that poor bastard.

Ok - discuss!

They're baaaack!

<a href="http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&u=/eo/20031230/en_tv_eo/13186&e=5">"Sopranos" Back in the Game</a>
Madon'! It's been a long time coming but HBO's Mafia drama The Sopranos is finally back on the schedule.

? News: Sopranos whacked pack is back
? News: Bada bing! Sopranos sixth set
? News: Sopranos goes to the reservoir dog?

The cable net has settled on March 7 to kick off the New Joisey mobster series' fifth season. The 13 new episodes will be sweet relief to patient viewers who've been waiting to catch up with Tony & Co. since December 8, 2002.

To recap: In the season finale titled Whitecaps, Carmela turned the tables on her cheating hubby, kicking Tony to the curb after receiving an irate phone call from his goomara Irene.

Edie Falco's role as a mob mama scorned garnered her an Outstanding Lead Actress Emmy, while James Gandolfini took home the TV trophy for Outstanding Lead Actor. In all, the series has racked up 13 Primetime Emmy nods since debuting in 1999, including three apiece for Falco and Gandolfini.

The show will continue to muscle the Emmy competition for at least another few years since HBO's inked a deal with creator David Chase for a sixth, and likely final, season.

But don't hold your breath. Production on the final 10 episodes isn't expected to begin until early 2005, keeping fans hanging for at least another two years to find out what happens to their favorite Italian-American famiglia.

But while the fate of Tony Soprano remains murky, details about the upcoming fifth season have surfaced like a stiff in the East River. This much is known:

There's no quick fix for Tony and Carmela's busted marriage. In fact, she may start dating other people (at their own risk).

Ghosts of episodes past are expected to resurface to haunt Tony's dreams. Among those expected to rise from the fishes are Vincent Pastore (aka Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero), David Proval (Richie Aprile), John Heard (Detective Vin Makazian), Al Sapienza (Mikey Palmice), Dan Grimaldi (Philly "Spoons" Parisi) and Jason Cerbone (news) (Jackie Aprile Jr.).

Even Joe Pantoliano (news) (Ralph Cifaretto), who captured an Emmy for his guest role, is expected to return if producers can work around his shooting schedule on CBS' The Handler.

As for the whacked pack's next unfortunate member, tabloids have pointed to well-manicured FBI (news - web sites) rat Adriana La Cerva as the season's first potential victim.

Steve Buscemi (news) has been tapped to join the drama as a recurring character for the fifth--and possibly sixth--season. The star of flicks such as Fargo, Con Air and Reservoir Dogs is also expected to spend time behind the camera directing new episodes.

HBO's also signed on Robert Loggia as a New Jersey Mob boss who's been sprung from prison and is looking to reclaim his territory, leading to a possible showdown with the don.

Sopranos

Interesting show tonight. I can't believe he fired Melfi. And what's with AJ? He's such a ****! I felt so sorry for Bobby's kids. And Janice...ugh. She is a pig. I am really disliking her. The scene with Bobby and Janice, sitting at a candlelit kitchen table, eating his dead wife's ziti, was just repulsive. ::shudder::

Anyway - my arms are killing me. All that raking. :arg: I think I am going to sit back and watch Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and catch up on some blogs!
G'night!

HOLY CRAP!

I don't think Ralphie torched the stables! Oh man - and Tony killed him anyway!!
Ugh - watching the show and just &lt;i&gt;knowing&lt;/i&gt; that Ralphie was gonna get offed.. it was torturous! I had a very hard time watching the final fight scenes with my face uncovered.
RIP(ieces) Ralphie.
