Oh - It's going to be a GREAT week

Now - just repeat the title of this post in the most snarky, most snide David Spade-esque voice you can imagine..

Yeah, my day is going *just* that well.

Shrieked at Eldest this morning. Another fine parenting moment in my life. I did manage to get Youngest on the bus without popping a blood vessel. Walked back into the house, poured a cup of coffee, grabbed my PDA. and walked back to my bedroom. I opened my curtains while holding those items and the sheer panels just FELL on me.

Obviously, I was completely startled and jumped back, spilling coffee all over myself, the floor, the bureau, and, unbeknownst to me at the time, my PDA. I changed my clothes quickly and cleaned the floor and the bureau and then hung the sheers back up on the bracket. I grabbed the dirty clothes and tossed them into the washer. May as well get a jump on the laundry. Hey - two birds with one stone right?

I sat down at the computer and grabbed my PDA. It felt wet. Oh no.. no no.. Please, not my organizer. My whole LIFE is in that organizer. My whole family's itinerary is in there. Memos, addresses, information, Girl Scout stuff. I pressed the power button. Nothing. At this point, I sound like Ralphie from A Christmas Story when he crushed his glasses after shooting his Red Rider BB Gun. No no!

The damn thing is DOA. In a panic, I called Husband. He's quite handy and is known to most of my friends as MacGyver. He calmed me down but I am still just so upset. I know, it could be worse. Lots worse.

I'm just so pissed at myself for doing something so damn stupid - and right before Christmas too. ::sigh::

Bummer. I have all that same info on my computer, and wonder how badly my life would fall apart if all that data was gone.

Good luck re-creating all that stuff.

Please tell my your PDA backs up to your computer...and most of your information is safe. I really hope it is, or you will be typing for a while with the girls' schedules.

Oh, no!

Has it had time to dry completely out, yet?

If so, did it come back to life?

Krush is correct: you're fine if you've been syncing the Zire regularly to your computer. All your data - contacts, schedule, etc. - should be safe and sound within Palm Desktop or Outlook (depending on how you've set it up.)

That being the case, if the Zire is dead, buy a replacement - they're incredibly cheap now because basic PDAs are no longer leading edge - and then sync it up by setting it to initially overwrite the device.

If not, you just found a great excuse to move into an iPhone or a BlackBerry!

Ping me if you have any additional questions. This is what I do.
