My poor kitty...
Husband and I will be bringing my 19 yr old kitty to the vet today... it doesn't look so good for her. She's peeing all over my kitchen and bathrooms. She never used to do that. Plus, she's drinking TONS of water as well. I think she's got diabetes AND she has such a hard time jumping down or even walking. She loses her balance occasionally too. ::sigh::
Youngest just dissolved into tears when I told her that Darla (kitty) was going to the vet... and that it may be her last visit. She cried.. I cried... oy.. this is a miserable day.

My sister just had to put down her aged dog a couple weeks ago (I think she was 16?). It's rough, isn't it? Especially on kids who have such attachments to the pets of their childhood.

19 is a good old age for a cat. But it never seems time for the end to be near.

{{{{Kate and Family}}}} Big hugs. How is everything. I am there ith you. I have an 18 year old cat who we almost lost last month due to similar issues. He lost half his weight. He is doing great now, other than thinking putting his head over the litterbox is the same as being in it. I am praying that everything worked out for the best. If you need anything, even an ear, please let me know. (I did lose my precious Ariel a couple years ago to acute renal failure) Hugs sweetie. I am here is you need me.
