Almost August??

What the HECK? I worked a couple weeks and now August is right around the corner, taunting me....

I barely have time to clean my house, food shop, and take care of the family much less time to blog. I can't believe I am writing this but I can't wait for the girls to go back to school!

In other news, we are making arrangements to finally go on vacation from October 29th through November 12th. We're driving down to Florida. With the girls. All in one car. God help us all. I do hate flying and the airfare alone was $1100!! I'd rather drive. I hope I don't strangle the girls. My inlaws live about 45 minutes south of Orlando so of COURSE you know where we'll be stopping for three fun filled days.

So Tired...

Lots going on.. I'm working my first of three weeks at the local Girl Scout camp. I am there from 8am - 345pm. Youngest is also attending but she is not part of the group I am supervising. Eldest is attending an academic camp (!?) for this week. I am also working at my church for VBS from 530-830pm. What the heck was I thinking?

I'm just a girl who cain't say no...

Oh Happy Day

I know it's Independence Day, our nation's 232nd birthday. Boithday, as Erica would say. (Erica, when are we getting together??)

Anyway, it's a day full of laziness around here. I did managed to accomplish washing, folding, and EVEN putting away a mountain of laundry. Thanks to summer, I've been washing quite a few towels. The weather has been pretty crappy lately so I haven't been hanging laundry out on the clothesline.

In social news, I've been cavorting with friends and neighbors. I think my liver is growing. We held a block party a couple weeks ago and, oof, I completely overdid it. Let's just say I am glad I didn't vomit in front of my children. All three times. Oy.

Ok - off to cook a sub-par dinner for my family. Luckily, they don't have high expectations for dinner tonight. Have a fun and safe 4th!

Attack of the Killer Tomatoes

Can you believe the size of these tomato plants??

Peek - A - Boo

DSC08856

They have completely taken over my poor little garden. It looks like the cucumbers will survive. The tomatoes have eclipsed the wax beans and pepper plants - you can see them in the front of the garden. There are a TON of yellow flowers and little green tomatoes. Oh my, I think I will be overrun with tomatoes!

Anyone want some?

Happy Anniversary!

Sent to me from a friend...

A married couple in their early 60s was celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary in a quiet, romantic little restaurant.

Suddenly, a tiny yet beautiful fairy appeared on their table.

She said, "For being such an exemplary married couple and for being
loving to each other for all this time, I will grant you each a wish."

The wife answered, "Oh, I want to travel around the world with my
darling husband." The fairy waved her magic wand and - poof! - two tickets for the Queen Mary II appeared in her hands.

The husband thought for a moment, "Well, this is all very romantic, but an opportunity like this will never come again. I'm sorry my love, but my wish is to have a wife 30 years younger than me."

The wife and the fairy were deeply disappointed, but a wish is a wish.

So the fairy waved her magic wand and poof! The husband became 92 years old.

The moral of this story: Men who are ungrateful bastards should remember fairies are female.
