Poor Poor Blog
I have neglected thee...
A thousand pardons for not updating. The girls had their spring break this past week and we have been busy busy busy. We've visited friends, family, and even visited IKEA. I know, I know..IKEA is the mecca of all that is MDF in the whole wide world. I bought two of the Benno CD tower. I wanted to purchase more and more but I managed to control myself stay within my budget. I do love shopping through the downstairs part of IKEA - the Marketplace. That's where one gets to stock up on candles, glassware, placemats, and a zillion other goodies. Heck - I wish I lived closer to IKEA!
But, sadly enough, it's all the way in Elizabeth - right across the lovely NJ Turnpike from Newark..err..Liberty International Airport. The girls love watching the planes land. As for me, well, I enjoy the meatballs and ligonberries. YUM-O.

I've got to purchase a bag of these next time I got shopping. Oh, and I can't forget a jar of ligonberry jelly.
I found this great webiste called IKEA Friends. There's also a forum available for discussions about the food, furniture and daily bargains. I've got to send this to a few friends and family members!
Well, I am off to bed. I am working as a lunchroom aid all this week. Wish me luck!

The Hills Are Alive....
I adore Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. This scene when they sing "Edelweiss" together always makes me tear up...

Crappy News
I have been having a not-so-great weekend which was just made much worse by the fact that a very special chocolate order for Youngest was cancelled *just* in time for Easter. Now, for those of you not in the know, Youngest has severe food allergies. She is anaphylactic to all dairy, egg, nuts and peanut products. So, what that means is every Easter, she does not have a bunny. Every Christmas, she doesn't have chocolate. Every birthday party, she doesn't get the cake and ice cream.
So, just imagine my joy when I found a place online that makes these allergy-safe treats. Immediately I placed on order for a bunny and a bunch of other candy and I spent about $30 on safe chocolate candy for Youngest. Now - I placed this order on 3/9 and I fully expected to have it delivered within 10 days. Turns out the company was completely overwhelemed and they had to shut down the online ordering on their website. I was a little nervous about that but I was assured that I would have my order.
This past Monday (3/17), I emailed the company to check the status of my order. The owner responded and once again said my order would ship by Wednesday and I would definitely have it Friday.
Guess what I didn't have by Friday? I called the company around 9am this morning and, once again, spoke with the owner who said she absolutely shipped it yesterday via Express Mail and I would have it today.
At 258pm today, I received an email from the owner. Seems that I was about 1 of 20 people who did not have their order completed. I was not going to get my order. Beyond pissed doesn't even begin to describe how angry I was.. and still am. If she had just emailed me and said she couldn't handle the order, I would have been annoyed but I would have had time to make more suitable arrangements. The fact she lied to me when I called her THIS MORNING makes me crazy. Like I wouldn't have figured out that I wasn't getting my order at 330pm when my mail shows up?
Thank goodness I had picked up some additional things this past week, just in case. Unfortunately, the "just in case" moments happen a lot.
I think I am more sad for me than for Olivia - I just wanted her to fit in.. to enjoy a chocolate bunny without worrying she was going to have an anaphylactic reaction. I am very disappointed with this company who has not, at the time of this post, issued me my refund. I will get my refund. I am not that worried about that.
I just really wanted that damn bunny.

Not your standard Easter egg
For those of you who don't know, my youngest daughter has food allergies. She is anaphylactic to all dairy, eggs, nuts, and peanuts. So, when Easter arrives,we don't dye eggs like most people. Instead, we paint wooden eggs I purchase from the crafts store. Here is one I painted. Check out more uploaded pictures by clicking on the photographs.

How the heck did it become Wednesday Saturday?
I originally started to write this post on Wednesday
Poof! It's Wednesday? Really?
So much has happened that I really don't feel like can't write it all out
- Eldest plays basketball and her team won first place (last)Saturday! I'd show the photo of the team but it's got too many identifying items in it - sorry guys. But trust me when I say, it's a GREAT picture!
- Thank goodness that basketball is over!
- Did I mention that now Eldest is playing volleyball? Oh, it started Monday night. ::sigh::
- Youngest will be starting softball on the 29th.
- Girl Scout cookies are in! I've got almost 200 boxes of cookies in my car/house.
- Speaking of Girl Scouts, Eldest's troop will be running an event for third year Brownies in order to earn their Bronze Award.
- I've worked a total of three days for the local school district. Jobs have been hard to come by as all of us subs are fighting for the jobs like frenzied sharks in a chum-filled ocean. Yeah - it's *that* hard to get 'em.
- Youngest has lost yet another tooth. She has no top front teeth and now has a missing tooth on the bottom. In a few more weeks, she will be getting a Palatal Expander ::click for image:: I hope it's not too awful for her but we've got to fix that dang crossbite.
- Husband and I got a new set of dishes. The pattern is Sedona by Pfaltzgraff. We had never registered for anything when we got married as we had been living together for about four years. So, when I mentioned to my Mom that Husband and I were looking to get a new set of dishes, she brought me a catalog of Pfaltzgraff patterns and I chose Sedona. Husband and I stopped at the Pfaltzgraff Outlet in Jackson and we found a box that held (4) four piece place settings for only $59.99! Normally, it retails between $71.99 - $89.99. Bargain! Mom bought them for us - thank you Mom! We also got a bunch of really nice bowls, serving platters and serving bowls.
- Lots of rain - stop it already before I need an ark to get around.
- It's laundry time. Hey, who says I don't have hot and exciting Saturday nights?
- The girls and I have got church in the morning. Yes - you read that right - church. I figured when the children ask to go back to church that it might be a good idea to bring them back. We were welcomed back very warmly last week.. and I've got to say that it felt pretty nice.
- Does anyone else love the movie version of The Producers? I just adore Nathan Lane.
Ok - I'm going to finish the laundry. Have a great night!
