Very cool guy
A few months ago, I had written about Cash Cab and how much I enjoyed the show. One of my brother's friends does camera work and he was also a camera man for Cash Cab. When I found out about that, I had asked my brother to see if his friend could score me an autograph from Ben Bailey. No luck.
Needless to say, I was bummed out but, hey, life goes on. Today, while speaking to my brother on the phone, he suggested I check my email. So, I've got Tim on the phone while I download my emails. To my total surprise, I found this in my email:
How AWESOME is that???? I am such a happy girl!

T minus 20 hours
Tomorrow, Youngest, Husband, and I will be heading into NYC. We will be visiting one of the top specialists in the field of food allergies. Husband has been warning me that I may not hear what I'd like to hear and that the doctor might question why why we made the appointment. I'd like to hear more... more of what I can do to help Youngest's situation. I'd love to hear that her allergy scores are within safe levels and we can introduce certain foods back into her diet.
It's good to wish.
::sigh::
If anything, it will be a most informative day. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to meet this doctor as he is mentioned in a lot of allergy articles and, frankly speaking, he knows his shit.
We are leaving for NYC very early - 630am early. Like, getting on the bus at 630am. Oy. Hopefully, we will arrive in NYC at a decent time since we are leaving during rush hour. We mapped out the crosstown bus routes (MTA)as well as the subway lines (the 6 train). Husband and I even found all the McDonalds in Manhattan.
I've got the video iPod to be charged up and I will be adding a few Spongebob episodes. Youngest adores Spongebob. I've got to pack two sets of epi-pens (Youngest and Husband) and the other assorted medicines that we carry, all the medical records, some bagels and other snack foods, water, wipes, checkbook, hats, gloves and possibly an umbrella.
Lordy - please don't let it snow.
Ok - off to a chaperone a class trip for Youngest's class. WIll be back around 1-ish. Wish me luck!

Funny
I got this one from my neighbor this morning...
I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that. "Why?" my daughter asked. "Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty, and probably has germs," I replied.
At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, "Momma, how do you know all this stuff, you are so smart." I was thinking quickly. "All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mom Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mom."
We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information. "OH... I get it!" she beamed, "So if you don't pass the test you have to be the dad."
"Exactly," I replied back with a big smile on my face.

600K mark
I just checked my stats and saw that I am going to be hitting the 600k mark sometime soon. How exciting! Right now I am at 599,069. I will have to keep a close eye and see who will be the lucky person who hits 600k.

On the Road with the Dog and Pony Show
I finally got a response from the Gov's office about when he plans on speaking in Monmouth and Ocean County and to try to pitch his toll plan. I copied the email below - any spelling/grammatical errors are on them, not me. I especially love the lack of capitalization on proper names. ::sigh::

New Jersey Toll Hike
Our most esteemed Governor Corzine has come up with a solution to end all of New Jersey's financial woes - he's gonna toll us to death!
A look at New Jersey Gov. Jon S. Corzine's plan to pay state debt and fund transportation projects by increasing highway tolls:
HOW MUCH: Corzine wants to increase tolls 50 percent in 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022, but the increases would also include adjustments to reflect inflation in the years tolls weren't hiked. After 2022, tolls would rise every four years to reflect inflation.
THE COST: Under Corzine's plan, over the next decade, the cost of the average turnpike trip would increase from $1.20 to $5.85, the average parkway trip would rise from 35 cents to $1.60 and the average expressway toll would go from 50 cents to $2.40.
A 35 cent toll would be put on Route 440 in 2010.
WHICH ROADS: The Atlantic City Expressway, Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike, with tolls added to the 4-mile-long Route 440 in Middlesex County.
THE GOAL: The administration estimates the deal could be worth as much as $37.6 billion, helping pay off as much as $29.6 billion in toll road, transportation, open space and general debt and provide money for road work, helping save nearly $1 billion annually.
HOW WOULD IT WORK: Corzine wants to create a nonprofit corporation that would manage toll roads and issue bonds to raise a huge chunk of money up front. The bonds would be paid back with increased tolls.
OTHER MEASURES: Corzine wants to ask voters to make it tougher for the state to borrow without voter approval and to limit annual state spending growth to revenue growth. He also promised not to let state spending increase in the budget due July 1.
WORRIES: Businesses say increased tolls could make goods costlier, while others worry trucks and cars looking to avoid higher tolls will jam local roadways.
THE PITCH: Corzine has promised public meetings in all 21 counties. He has scheduled the first public meeting for Jan. 12 in Livingston.

Hate to admit it...
The main reason I watch Drake and Josh with the girls is all due to Crazy Steve. He's really funny and I love the fact he's such a freak! Now, he's not so crazy as Spencer on iCarly. He still cracks me up and the girls like him too.
Isn't he a cutie?

Food Allergy
I didn't mention that we (the entire family) are heading into NYC at the end of the month. Youngest has an appointment at Mount Sinai with Dr. Scott Sicherer. He is one of the leading clinicians in the Jaffe Food Allergy Institute. Husband and I need to know what our next move should be regarding Youngest's food allergies. I am very much looking forward to meeting Dr. Sicherer. I have read all about him on the Internet as well as reading his reports in working with the The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network. I hope he is able to help us to do the right thing for Youngest.

Fun for everyone
I was surfing iTunes for podcasts and stumbled onto a Webkinz podcast produced by a dad (Dave) and his two daughters (Zoe and Hannah). It's very well produced and Youngest daughter enjoyed listening to it. Plus, the girls are a bit giggly, which makes it cute while Dave pulls it together nicely with some fun sound effects and helpful tips/hints for Webkinz World, which is always nice for us devoted parents who help our children earn KinzCash! Go on over to their website: Webkinz Webcast. The website takes a few moments to load due to heavy advertising and it can be a pain to wait. But it's cute and the kids will definitely love it. They can send in emails for the podcast or enter the contest. You can listen to the podcast on iTunes (Webkinz Webcast) or directly on their website.
Enjoy!

Tonight I watched the premiere of American Gladiators. I wrote an entry about the show returning back in October. I can't help it - I am just fascinated with this show.

Workout With Wii
I wanted to play the Wii system before the girls got home. My mom had told me about a woman who lost about 60lbs by eating well and playing the Wii system. Sounds good to me! I just boxed for ten minutes and boy am I out of breath! Whew!
But, it was lots of fun too!

Damn You WallyMart!
Well, so much for only purchasing a mattress pad, deodorant, and creamer. I also picked up new pillows, printer paper, Peach Mango juice (SO GOOD!)
::side note:: As I type this, I am listening to the best of "The Bob and Tom Show" and they are interviewing Peter Frampton, who is now singing "Baby I Love Your Way". I think Peter Frampton was one of my most favorite rockers from the 70's. I was only six when the song was released but my Mom played the Frampton Comes Alive album constantly. Somehow, I know a lot of the songs and I never ever switch the station when his song plays.
Where was I? Oh, my excessive shopping trip to WallyMart. I knew I was screwed the moment I grabbed hold of a shopping cart.
I've got laundry to fold, dinner to prep (meatloaf and stuffing), a bed to make, and a TON of Girl Scout stuff to prepare. Ciao for now!

Horray Hooray! It's Back to School Day!
Isn't it exciting?!
I love when the girls go back to school after an extended amount of time at home.
We spent some very nice quality time together yesterday. We cashed in some gift cards at Barnes and Noble and, by the time we were done, we only had to pay about $36 for 14 books. Now that's a nice bargain indeed! Next stop, Best Buy to pick up Wii Carnival Games. Bah, don't waste your money. It's wasn't as much fun as we thought. In fact, after the girls went to bed last night, Husband and I stayed up and played it for another hour before deciding that it wasn't really worth the $40. Luckily, the girls used their gift cards and I kicked in the tax. So, I guess it was worth the $2.79 that I had to pay.
Last stop, Pet Smart. We decided to pick up a few more fish for our 20 gallon tank. We added another Red Wag Platy (we already have one) and two Gold Twin Bar Platys. So, with those four plus four neons and a Black Platy, we've got a nicely stocked tank. Fishing anyone?
Well, I'm off to WallyMart. I've managed to stay away since before Christmas but I need a queen size mattress cover and some coffee creamer. Noting else (keep repeating to self). Oh, and deodorant too. Nothing else.
Nothing else!
