Beatin' my head against the wall
I really *hate* Everyday Math. I can't begin to find the words to say how much I hate it.
GAH!

Cookie Depot Day!
Today is our Service Unit's cookie depot. So, if you ordered cookies from me, they will be shipped out very soon! I am going to have approximately 200 boxes of cookies in my home today.
Yummy!

So long...farewell
Well, today was the day that Snickers was to go back to school. Eldest was fine with it but Youngest was heartbroken. She managed to keep it together until we walked out of Eldest's classroom and then she started to lose it. She's a toughie though and managed to suck it up and hold it together. I don't think she wanted to cry in front of all the kids in Eldest's class. Poor sweetie.
Now they want a guinea pig and I (I can't believe I am typing this) don't think I would mind one either. Snickers was pretty damn cute and Husband liked him too. My sisters in law had some when they were growing up and he said they were pretty cuddly and very friendly. I'm concerned about Darla (my poor old kitty) but Snickers barely registered on her kitty radar.
Oh lordy - I might be a future guinea pig owner. Hold me!

Be Our Guest
Eldest invited a special guest from school to spend the weekend with us. He's absolutely adorable and is quite friendly, He is messy and eats quite a bit but, because he's so cute, I've let it slide.
I've got a cute picture of him - wanna see?

His name is Snickers and he is visiting us for a mini vacation from Eldest's classroom. He goes back to school on Monday. He's pretty young and still a little nervous around us. Now, I am not a fan of beady-eyed pets but I am getting over it. Oy - now the kids want to have their very own guinea pig. My cat - totally oblivious to the fact there is another critter in the house. I am really surprised about that. But, I guess when one is a 17 year old geriatric cat, one doesn't concern oneself about that. All she cares about is eating, pooping, and sleeping.
When I am 90, God willing, I hope that's all I have to worry about too.

On It's Way
Fronty 2 should be here in about 30 minutes. When I was younger, I never ever imagined that one day I'd actually be excited to get a washing machine!

Da Bowser Bill?
There's a bill pending in the NJ Senate that
"Prohibits certain deceptive advertising or concert performance practices with respect to live musical performances or productions"
Example, you go to the Garden State Arts Center PNC Bank Center to see an oldies band from the sixties only to realize that there are NO original members from the band actually on stage.
Wow - thank goodness NJ is looking out for me.

All is not lost
We've found a suitable replacement for our beloved Fronty.
Please welcome the new and improved Fronty 2!

Yes, I know the name is quite similar, but it suits her so nicely. She will be coming home to us on Friday. Oh God, want to know much laundry can we amass by Friday? Quite a bit.
I guarantee it.

Washing Machine Saga - Part Deux
The Eulogy
It's dead Jim.
The washer. It's dead. Almost 10 full years of hard work and dedication - gone. Husband tried to save it as he had done many times before but alas, the poor front loading washing machine didn't pull through and is now living in the big laundry room up in the sky.
The only thing I'm happy about is that the dryer didn't give up the fight and it still currently with us. There are no signs of illness but we will be keeping a watchful eye on its situation.
I feel like I should have a special ceremony for the washer. I'd hold it in the backyard but it's so cold outside. A burial is out of the question - the ground is frozen. And, of course, one can't actually flush a washing machine either.
This machine was such an important part of our lives. A very necessary part. But, as they say in the laundry world, you are only as good as your last spin cycle. So, this morning, we are off to Lowes to find a suitable (and inexpensive) replacement for Fronty the front loader.
You will be missed. RIP Fronty.

Happy VD
Hope you all have a great day!
Anyone want a cupcake?
John asked how I would get the cupcakes to school and this was my response to him:
Because I am such the loving and devoted mother, I chauffered the little miss and her 24 cupcakes to school. In the driving rain. I was able to drop her at the school door, park my car about 300 feet away and run/walk into the school. At least the cupcakes stayed dry. By the time I got back home, I was, literally, soaking wet from the thighs down. Wet corduroys feel so gross.
Thanks for the link John!

Ever have one of those days?
The girls were acting up quite a bit on Saturday. It was constant bickering, horrible. Horrible. They were fighting about those stooopid Littlest Petshop critters. One had the other's monkey, the other one had a brush and comb set. They just kept harping on and on and on until Husband had a fine parenting moment when he finally snapped and bellowed "Bring me the monkey!" I just dissovled into a fit of giggles until tears filled my eyes.
Maybe you just had to be there.

Mike Rowe
Did anyone else catch Mike Rowe on The Daily Show last night? I just adore him - he's very well spoken, obviously extremely intelligent and he's certainly easy on the eyes.
Since I'm such a dirty girl nice person, I've obtained the video clip from Comedy Central. It looks like both Mike and Jon Stewart had a great time during the interview. Enjoy!

SuperBowl
Great game - I love it when football gets messy, you know, like the "old days".
The best ads:
Doritos - I liked two of them. The checkout girl who was "checking out" her Doritos man and the one with the guy who crashed his car after oogling a girl on the street. Both were cleverly done.
Coca Cola - I enjoyed all of them.
Fed Ex - I loved the meteor
Blockbuster The guinea pig clicking and dragging the "mouse" totally made me laugh. I love James Woods.
Two words - Robert Goulet. Oh my God - hysterical!
Bud Light - Rock, Paper, Scissors was funny but it was already done last year by Nextel with the phone that had a crime deterrent system. I do *heart* Carlos Mencia and I enjoyed those commericals.
Nationwide featuring Kevin Federline. Awesomely funny. Really!
CareerBuilder.com - Thank God they ditched the monkeys. I loved the "Lord of the Flies" meets "Dilbert" commercials. Reminds me of a previous employer.
General Motors - my favorite was with all the guys running after one car full of women, stripping down, and washing it. Very funny!
