Good!
CEO makes up with Girl Scout troop
(follow up to this story)
LA Weight Loss CEO Vahan Karian bought $2,000 worth of Girl Scout cookies on Tuesday to apologize to a troop that was shooed away from selling the goodies near a Raritan weight-loss center.
On Friday night, some LA Weight Loss clients were upset about Girl Scouts from Troop 1065 in Bridgewater selling cookies in front of the neighboring Blockbuster video store. Both are in the same shopping center.
The weight-loss center contacted Blockbuster, asking the store to make the girls leave. They agreed to move and to stagger their selling hours.

Here is my take on it....
WILL POWER!!! Instead of making a commotion about it just say no thank you and go on about your business.
If someone is having such a hard time about cookies instead of LA Weight Loss maybe try OA!!
just my opinion..

Hahahahaha! Those Girl Scouts are market savvy salespeople. Where better to sell cookies than near a target audience who might have a hard time walking away from temptation?
This is good evidence that LA Weight Loss is probably a bad program for those struggling with their weight. Their clients would have been better served if they were taught how to confront bad food in a better way than threatening police action to make it go away.

If you have that little control LA Weight Loss is not where you need to go!!!!
A shrink would be the person to talk to.

a little after the fact, but, i sent this to the LA Weight Loss folks via their website - after seeing it on your site...
----------------------
Having been a Girl Scout in my youth, and a volunteer leader for six years when my own daughter was young; I must say I was astonished to read
about your company's Raritan, NJ center trying to prevent the local troop from selling cookies in the same shopping center where LA Weightloss is
located!! And their need to then negoitiate with the scouts on hours of the sale of cookies.
I have never been part of your program, but, have participated in a few different types of weight loss programs in the past. This incident certainly
points out to me that the LA program must not instruct their clients about using their "will power" with regards to
food consumption... and that THEY are the only ones who can control their diet. If your Raritan counselor goes to the extreme of trying to stop Girl
Scouts from selling cookies within the radius of a client, instead of pointing out to them ways to manage and control their own behavior -- albeit with spouses, coworkers, family members, etc. -- then it can't be much of a program!!
The ironic part of all this is LA WEIGHTLOSS makes their money (and wouldn't be in business) if people had not eaten cookies, cakes, mashed
potatoes with gravy, etc., etc., etc. Will they be going after the poor business owner at the other end of the strip mall who sells pizza by the slice and
try to get his place of business closed up next!!??

Well, the bottom line is that the Girl Scouts made a $2,000 sale, and that's good.
