Wazzup?
The usual over here..
I've got onehelluva grumpy 9 yr old this morning. WTF? Man, I'd just love to walk around and be surly with everyone. I can't even stay in the same room with her right now - which is why I am writing this post. Gah.
She's finished eating and somehow seems to be in a slightly more human mood. I will watch and only approach if this alien life force extends a peaceful greeting...
My schedule is surprisingly light today. At 915am, there is a "Thank You" breakfast for all the parents who helped out in the all the kindergarten classrooms. Awwwwwwwwwwwww. This should be sweet. I am also planning a nice little end of the year surprise for Youngest's kindergarten teacher. I saw this item at Oriental Trading. God - I love shopping there! I just bought a lot of stuff for the class AND for the two troops. My idea - to use all the photos of the kids in the class but to have to kids decorate the photo pocket. Totally cute! I need another good idea for the teacher's aid. She's just fantastic. Maybe fingerprints on a tote bag? Hmmm... I've got to work on that one. Any suggestions?
I'm really busy with end of the year stuff with the GS troops as well. I've got many activities planned for them.

5/7 second 1/2 of troop to tour animal shelter

Eldest's Troop
4/7 Bowling/Pizza Party to hand out awards
4/28 Meeting
5/5 Cookie Disco
5/13 Event at local gymnasium with another troop
5/27 - 5/28 Camp-In at the local community center.
I've still got a few more things I need to work out but that's the schedule as of now. Now, don't kid yourself - this is just the Girl Scout schedule. I didn't add in the PTA or other school/class related trips and events.
I need a drink!

And you will sleep when???? June?? OTC is awesome! I get a lot of party stuff there as well. We made a memory scrapbook one year for the teacher and color photocopied it for the rest of the class. It was a great yearbook. We put pics from all the fieldtrips, shows, parties and just casual ones.
Just a thought.
(Oh and the parents paid for the copies if they wanted one)

Our daughter will be 9 in July, and she also is a heckuva grump. I'm glad to know that we're not alone!
There are certain times that I have to remind myself or be reminded that I'm the adult.

Same here, guys. Our 9-year-old is always grumpy in the mornings. But I guess she gets that from her mom. Hell hath no fury like the two of them going at it in the a.m. Of course, they go at it most of the time. Is that a mom/daughter thing? Female rivalry?
