Party time!

Next week is Food Allergy Awareness week (4/14-4/20). Unfortunately, it occurs when we will be having spring break. I am going to drop off some papers with Youngest's principal and see if we/he can organize something for the school that takes place the week we get back. I picked up two books from Amazon - Allie the Allergic Elephant and Cody the Allergic Cow. Yeah, the titles are cheesey but they do explain food allergies at a very basic level. As soon as I receive the books, we are going to donate them to the school library in Youngest's name.

In other fun news, I'm a gettin' my hair done. Bye bye grey hair! I figure, if I get it done today, then, I can get it done again about a week before my brother's wedding in June. No roots and no grey hair in the wedding pics. Of course, my diet is at a standstill. So, I've got to kick it into gear and really just keep food as far away as possible. No problem, right? Right... except today is the bowling pizza party for Eldest's GS troop.

:::sigh:::

I'll just bowl.. and maybe lick the pizza box.

Kate,

I discovered your blog through the crochet blog web ring, and I am so happy I did! I have a five year old daughter with food allergies. My husband and I homeschooled her this year instead of sending her to kindergarten, and we are currently debating if we should send her to school next year. Reading your post helped remind me that if I am active in educating the people around her then she should be able to attend school safely. Thanks. Now I am going to check out those books at Amazon. :D

Thank you,
Veronica

P.S. I live in Gloucester County, NJ, so I know just how you felt about that stupid snow!
