Funny

I dropped my car at the local Lube Dr for a 10 minute oil change. Husband and I have been customers here for several years and it's a nice little place. Plus, I am out usually within 10 minutes. Booyah!

There was only one other customer in the lobby, waiting for his truck. I settled down to wait in one of those comfy resin chairs and checked out what was on television. It was a "Today-esque" type of show airing on MSNBC. One of the hosts was interviewing Erica Jong and he asked her why her book caused such a stir with America in the early 70's. She explained what the book was about and how America wasn't ready to hear about such things.

I've never read her book so her interview, albeit brief, was quite interesting.

Upon wrapping up the interview, she did mention about a famous New York lawyer (she didn't name him) who had remarked to her that every time her saw Jong's book on his date's table, he knew he was going to get lucky tonight. I laughed aloud and so did the other customer. He had already paid for the service on his truck but was waiting to hear the end of the interview.

After we both laughed, he turned to me, right before walking out the door and said in a most matter of fact voice, "I've never seen that book!" Again, he and I both laughed and then he walked out to his truck.

So - that was my fun morning. What's up with you? Any good Sopranos talk?

Only AJ's comment about "getting" Uncle Jun.

It was an interesting episode. (I *loved* seeing Tony as "average business man.")

I went to Jiffy Lube over the weekend for an oil change and a new headlight. They took care of the oil, but made a big stink about the light because you had to "remove the air intake valve assembly" and it would take them way too long and they were too busy to mess with a headlight even though I was a paying customer. Fine, you bastards.

I went across the street to the auto parts store, got a bulb, and changed the damn thing myself in less than 5 minutes. My hands got dirty, which is what I was trying to avoid since I was going to be out all afternoon, and now I'll probably never go to Jiffy Lube again. Can Paul teach me how to change the oil?

Yes and I have a 1973 First Edition: First Printing in VF/VF condition personally signed by her to me in my archival collection but it NEVER worked as the lawyer described! I wonder what I was doing wrong. Later on things CHANGED – must have been my learning curve.
