A fleeting moment....

I spend an hour in Youngest's classroom this morning. Man, kindergartners can be so sweet. I had three of Youngest's buddies ( 2 girls and 1 boy) tell me that I looked beautiful. Awwwwwwwwww. How sweet is THAT? I need those kids around just to keep my ego boosted. When it was time to leave, Youngestput her coat in to leave (we have an ENT appointment) and the kids were just totally perplexed. It's funny to watch the kindergartners react to something that is not on their daily routine. LOL.

So, I hope all goes well today. I am just going to flat out ask for ear tubes to be placed back in Youngest's ears. One tube fell out but the other one is still hanging on and still in the eardrum. She had the procedure back in June 2003. I feel so bad for Olivia. She wants to be able to go underwater SO badly. It doesn't help that she was invited to another birthday party - at the local indoor pool. So now she's the allergy kid with ear tubes. ::sigh::

Poor kid.

Such fun

I just love waking Eldest up 30 minutes earlier than usual so she can finish her homework.

/sarcasm

::update::

Well, she couldn't finish the assignment since she all of a sudden didn't understand it. So, we had her pack it all up and she can turn it in incomplete and explain to her teacher that she didn't understand what she needed to do next.

Good times folks - nothin' but fun...

Got a crick....

in my neck. OW OW OW OW! Thank goodness I was able to see my chiro this morning. God, I love him. It still hurts like hell but at least I have some range of motion in my neck now. I will be seeing him again on Wendesday morning....

So, it's no gym for me the next few days. Damn. I am going to try to tackle some more cleaning in the bedrooms and maybe organize the mess that is my kitchen. Later!

Fun Fun Fun

We all had a great day yesterday. Miss Mary graced us with her lovely charming self and was lucky to get a quickie lesson in spackling and taping from Husband. She also met my FIL and BIL, who were also down to help work on the addition.

Speaking of addition, the house is coming along quite nicely. The walls are in place and are now getting spackled and taped. It's not going to be too much longer. I'm so excited! I have to narrow down the paint colors and pick out flooring - carpet or hardwood/laminate. At this point, it's going to be the nicest of the most inexpensive. We are at the end of our budget. Oy - additions are quite expensive!

The girls are relaxing today. Well, Youngestis and Eldest will be out selling cookies. She's up to 172 boxes! We've got one more big street to hit and I am sure she can get 28+ boxes out of that. We'll see what she wants to do after that - she got pretty pumped up last week, even though it was cold, she wanted to keep selling. I've got to admire this kid . She is tenacious, just like her parents.

Off to sell Girl Scout cookies!

I'm a loser baby

The concert last night was fantastic! I was so excited to see my baby play her trombone. We got there early, picked out our seats and waited. About 15 minutes before the show started, I leaned down to get my camera and, with a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach, realized that I did not have it with me. Husband even walked back to the car, just to be sure. Nope. It was at home, all prepped and ready to go, on my couch. Luckily, a friend of mine took some photographs of Eldest while she was playing. I'm so mad at myself for forgetting the damn camera!

Tonight, there is a Lip Syncing event for the Girl Scout Service Unit. It's going to be a lot of fun. My girls (lol- MY girls) will be doing New York, New York. I bought them top hats and they will be doing Rockette-like kicks at the end of the song as well as assorted dance moves. This is going to be a lot of fun and I will make SURE to bring my camera tonight!

Off to clean and complete other assorted household crap. CIAO!

Not so bad...

Ok - so I managed to lose a 1/2 lb. Better than gaining, right? I know what I did wrong this past week. I didn't get to the gym as ofter as I would have liked and Saturday just ruined me. When I hopped up on the scale today, I was thrilled to have lost anything at all!

On the cookie front, Eldest is doing awesome! So far, she's sold 154 boxes! We're going to try to sell more on Saturday before Miss Mary comes down for a day of taping and spackling hell for a lovely visit. Shoot me an email if you are interested in purchasing some cookies!

Uh oh

Today is weigh in and I know I didn't lose anything this week. ::sigh:: I'm going to switch from Core to Flex. I am having a very hard time with the Core plan. It's the lack of carbs - I am having an extremely hard time with that. I guess I am addicted to carbs?

Anyway - off to feed the kidlets. WIll catch up later.

I hate titles

I am just going to give up on titles. I'm not that witty.

Youngestis home sick today. Again. Another appointment with the pedi in 45 minutes. I'm sure it's another (or still the same) ear infection.. Good times. At least I can get some food shopping done while I wait for the prescription to be filled. We've got an appointment for her to see the ENT next week.

I don't think I've done too well with WW this week. I'm very disappointed with myself. I am going to have to go to Curves tonight when Husband gets home. I hate going at night but I guess it's better than not going at all. I know exactly what happened this week and I am going to have to get off my fat ass and not do it again.

Eldest and I walked around the neighborhood yesterday and she did SO well selling GS cookies. She decided that she wants to sell 200 boxes and, as of today, she's at 104 boxes! I'm so proud of her! We had a lot of fun walking around, just chatting. We noticed that our neighbourhood had a lot of different types of dogs. Of course, after all those cute dogs, I am considering (JUST CONSIDERING) a dog. It would have to be a small dog - I mean like 10-15lbs TOPS. This won't be happening for at least another year or two. I have too much going on right now to properly take care of a pet.

Well, I'm off for now. Wish us luck.

Saturday Update

Yes, can you believe I am posting again? Will wonders never cease? Husband is working out in the addition and my awesome FIL is also out there. They are hanging green board in the new bathroom. YAY! I just want this addition to be finished already - OY! Husband's doing a great job. I am so proud of him for undertaking this HUGE project.

In other news, the girls haircuts turned out very nicely. Eldest decided to let the hairdresser cut off about 5 inches of hair. Very brave of her. She's very cautious about receiving haircuts. I've been trying to get her to donate her hair to Locks of Love but she's not ready for that step, yet. No rush there. I know that one day, she's make that decision and I hope she does donate her hair. It's gorgeous. Youngest's hair is very fine, almost wispy. I had the hairdresser cut off a couple inches on her as well. Now, it sits right below her shoulders. Of course, she also looks adorable.

Our annual GS cookie sale has started and I want to thank everyone who ordered cookies. The cookies will be in around the end of February and I will let you know what your totals will be with USPS shipping.

Youngest's got, yes, another, birthday party to attend today. The birthday boy's name is Michael and he is just adorable. He has an 18 month old sister who is just precious. His parents look they they might be in their mid-twenties. So young. ::sigh::

I've seen people placing Technorati tags on their posts. So, I'm going to give it a shot, just for fun. Have a great day!

Tragedy

A horrible murder was committed in my town which resulted in the death of two children, ages 7 and 14. I'm not linking the news stories but it's all over the local news as well as the NY stations.

It's awful.

Please - hug your children and hold them close. It's news stories like these that make my skin crawl.

Way behind

Yeah yeah - I know.. I've been wondering why I even attempt to continue blogging..

I don't think I mentioned that Youngesthad her birthday-paloozza party this past Saturday. She had 22 kids that showed up at the local gymnastics hall for ninety minuets of organized fun. They kids all loved it and she was so happy to be the center of attention - you know - because she never gets any attention around here.
::eyeroll:: My niece, nephew, SIL and BIL came back to the house after the party and we all hung out, amidst the construction chaos. Youngestdidn't open her presents until 9pm that night! Of course, she loved everything, including floam, Polly Pockets, assorted Bratz merchandise, and, the big hit:

Pucci Pups

puccipup.jpg

Isn't it adorable? I don't know what she named it or anything but it's definitely cute. I think the gift giver snagged it from Target as I haven't seen this in the local Kmart or WalMart.

Well, I'm off to attempt to get some work done. The girls are getting haircuts at 415pm. I'll try to post some pictures.

Ciao!

Day of truth

I had my weigh-in this morning and, by following the Core Plan, I've lost 4 lbs! Woohoo! Not exciting to some of you folks out there but most exciting for me.

It's raining like crazy here and some of my local streets are flooded. Makes for a lot of fun while driving home in the midst of a downpour. But hey, at least it ain't snowing.

I've been super busy with Girl Scouts (Cookie sale starts on Friday people! You know you want to buy some....), the PTA, the gym, the house...oy... it doesn't stop! I'm taking a break and I'm going to try to catch up on some of you bloggers and eat lunch.

Stay dry.

Missing Links

One major thing that really bites about computer crashes is losing links. I had *so* many craft links, Girl Scout links, shopping links... oh man... I'm so bummed I lost them. Of course, I am thrilled that I still have all my banking and photos.

Does anyone have some cool links to share? Pretty please?

WOOHOO!

BACK online baby!

No clue as to what might have happened with the computer. We ended up at Circuit City and picked up two of these boxes and a big ole 17 HP monitor. Heck - who needs money anyway? Thank goodness the hard drive in my system didn't get fried. We've got everything on that sucker. I think I would have had a nervous breakdown if everything was all gone. Oy - I don't even want to think about it!

Anyway, I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. Ta for now.

Computer woes

Our main computer is crashed. I think the thunder and lightening storm from last night killed it. Husband is working on the machine now.

Wish us luck.

So much for the resolution

I just can't keep up! Life has got to slow wayyyyy down.

:::deep breath:::

Ok, I feel a little better now. Still have a wicked cold but even that's starting to clear up and I am able to sleep a little better at night. At least it doesn't feel like my head is going to explode. Urgh.

I'm trying to be a little more organized as well. I'm running two PTA events - one of which is next Friday and the next is the second Friday in February. ::crossing fingers:: So far, so good. Both Girl Scout troops are doing fine. The Daisy troop just earned some petals and the Juniors meet tomorrow to work on the Cookie Connection badge.

SPEAKING of cookies ::ahem::, I just want to let all you fantastic readers out there that, once again, the GS cookie sale starts Friday, January 20th. If anyone is interested in buying some cookies, let me know and I'll be more than happy to suck you into the tasty Cookie Collective hook you up. Check 'em out below.

Achy and Stuffy

Being sick really sucks. I've got to get to the store and pick up some more Robitussin. My head feels like it's going to explode. I've got a Daisy meeting for Youngest's troop this afternoon. I sure hope my head feels better by then or it just might explode from all the noise! My head is all stopped up with my nose running. I need to drink some more water. I think I might be slightly dehydrated as well.

I've managed to lose 2-3 lbs. Woohoo! I'll take it any way I can - dehydration or not.

::update::
Desperate times call for desperate measures. I just raided my stash filled medicine cabinent and found a couple doses of Robitussin Liquicaps. Booyah. I also found stuff that was 4-5 years old that needed to be flushed. But this, this is going to be my lifesaver. I'll take these babies tonight before bed.

Speaking of bed, I stayed up wayyy too late last night watching a stand up routine featuring Christoper Titus on Comedy Central. Holy hell, he is one funny sumbitch.

Ok -I've got to lay down. My head weighs a TON!

Down for the count

Youngest's got another ear infection - the poor kid. And, to top things off, somewhere along the way, I picked up a cold, probably from going into Youngest's classroom Tuesday. Ugh - my head is all stopped up except for my nose, which is running like a sonofabitch.

:::running for the tissuebox:::

Better now. I made the executive decision to keep Youngestout of school and I cancelled attending my WW meeting with my buddy. I'd have to be there in one hour and there's no way I can even get dressed right now. I don't have a fever - just a bad case of pissandmoan disease.

I'm going back to bed.

Family Guy

I joined up with Netflix again and I am trying to catch up on the older Family Guy episodes. Last night, I popped one in the computer so I could watch it in the bedroom. I got through 2 episodes and promptly passed out. I woke up at 134am.

Hmmmm.

I need to start getting more sleep. Actually, I managed to get plenty of sleep last night, at the expense of the Griffin family. How can one fall asleep to a face like this:

Resolution

My New Year's resolution was that I would update my blog every day - no matter what.

::looking at calendar::

Hmmm - better late than never, eh?

Things have been JUST a little more hectic than usual. I had car problems yesterday which ended up with me having to rent a car while my car underwent repairs. My choices for an automobile were:

Chevy Malibu - View image

Chrysler 300 - View image

Dodge Magnum - View image

I chose the Magnum - with a hemi engine. MAN, talk about having fun while driving. The girls loved it and wanted me to keep it! Not with the way the price of gasoline is heading. My car was ready to be picked up today so, regretfully, I returned the rental for my five speed Hyundai Santa Fe. I do enjoy driving a car with stick shift. It would be nice if my five speed car had a V-8 and a hemi engine but I'll survive.

I've been planning PTA Fun Nights, Girl Scouts, gymnastics, classroom activities, busy busy busy... I need a clone, or two. I'm in the process of cleaning up Christmas, the house... Everything needs to be put away and I've got to find a place for it all.

Well, I'm off to clean the kitchen. How the hell are all you doing?

Happy New Year!

We all stayed up to watch Dick Clark's Rocking New Year. When he came on and spoke, I got all teary-eyed. His speech is all slurred but I think he did a great job tonight.

NEW YORK -- There was more to celebrate than the ball dropping in Times Square for Dick Clark _ the personality who's been ringing in the New Year for decades made his first television appearance since a stroke in late 2004.

Clark, sitting behind a desk with the street scene in the background, sounded hoarse and occasionally was hard to understand, but he said, "I wouldn't have missed this for the world."

"Last year I had a stroke," he explained. "It left me in bad shape. I had to teach myself how to walk and talk again. It's been a long, hard fight. My speech is not perfect but I'm getting there."

I love Dick Clark!

I wish each and every one of you a fantastic New Year!
