Good morning..err.. evening

You know, when I realized that both girls would be going to school this year, I anticipated leisurely days, lunching with friends, being able to get the house organized.... you know, being a little like June Cleaver.

Boy, has that notion flown out the window!

I'm so behind on visiting people so please forgive me for not commenting on your blogs.

Our visit to the track on Saturday was a LOT of fun. I've only been to the track once and I was way too young to gamble. Man, I had a gooood time gambling. Truth be told, I suck at horse betting but I had a lot of fun trying. I won on a few ponies - Joey P, Jersey Peach - how can one from NJ NOT bet on Jersey Peach? Well, she won the race and I won too. So did a shitload of other people who bet on her as well. The odds were awful - maybe 2-1. LOL. We stayed until the nineth race amd then we left, heading to my sis in law's place in Red Bank. We had dinner, walked to the Navesink River then drove home. Sunday was our BIG trip to Lowes. We spent quite a bit of money and the items will be delivered Monday.

Today, my friend Lauren, her lil 7 week old munchkin and I went shopping for some future PTA events. Don't even ask what I spent AND I'm not even done. ::sigh:: We were in Michaels for almost two hours. Of course, while I was there, I bumped into four different people - all from Girl Scouts. It was very weird indeed.

My FIL came down to watch the girls tonight as it was Eldest's Back to School night. I love her teacher this year and I think that Eldest will do very well with her. In other good school news, Eldest was accepted into the gifted and talented program! Woohoo!

Not much else here - just being busy with the house, the house, the house and the house. I've got to jump into the shower and head to bed. It's been a long day. G'nite!

I hear you about the organization thing. I thought while I was out of work I'd get the house clean, keep up with the laundry, etc. As if.

I'm imagining a Jersey Peach. I'm quite familiar with Georgia Peaches, of course. But a Jersey Peach, huh? I'm picturing big peach fuzz...

June Cleaver is totally overrated. Plus don't you have to own 27 cardigans and 34 stands of pearls to be June?

June Cleaver? Wasn't she a porn star? ;)

Our parent-teacher conferences are on Friday. I scheduled them so they are back-to-back... hope the first one doesn't run over!
