It was fun

The schoolorientation was fun. We already knew our way around the school but it was a nice refresher for Olivia. Tomorrow we meet the teacher! Wooohoo!

In other news, gas in our area has now hit $3.01 a gallon. Husband drives ninety miles every day for work. Thank goodness he drives a Saturn 4-cylander but still, $3.01? That's a lot of freakin' money. The gas station at the Lacey rest area on the Garden State Parkway (near exit 74) still has gas at $2.57/gallon. I will be heading there tonight to fill up my car. Luckily, that's not too far from where I live.

What's the price of gas in your area?

Two days ago I paid $2.54. I'll have to check to see what it is now.

We are at $2.57 for regular right now. Of course I have to use the mid-grade gas so I pay .10 more a gallon but, if I don't, my car runs like shit.

Of course the fact that it's taking about 40.00 to fill up my car these days is KILLING me!

It'll get much higher in a week or so. New Orleans was the producer, or at least supplier of more than 50% of the nations gas supply.
President Bush put a cap on it for right now (I think it's a national cap but it may be regional to our area) so as not to place an additional burden on those who are having to use gas to run generators.
Better fill up now.
New Orleans was the major shiping and receiving port for a large portion of all commodities that came into and even through (originating here and going to other locations) the United States, be prepared for the prices of alot of things to go up. Fruits and vegetables, lumber, I could go on and on but you get my drift.
Yay! The porta potty is gone, whatever will you do without it??

$2.69. Sigh.

In Oklahoma, a gas and oil state, it is now $3.00 a gallon.

I paid #2.96 on my way home. That seemed to be the going price at most of the stations I passed. AAA of Kansas says that we'll probably hit $4-5/gallon before this is all over. Fun times.

I (heart) my little fuel-efficient Saturn.

Gas at the el-cheapo station is currently $3.15. Until he runs out, like many gas stations are. Not fun here...

Posted by: Theresa at August 31, 2005 09:11 PM

Yesterday it went up to $2.89 and today it went up to $3.39-$3.59 depending on where you go in northern Wisconsin.

Posted by: livey at August 31, 2005 09:20 PM

it was $2.81 on DH's way to school this morning and $2.89 by this afternoon. The usual el cheapo station is 2 cents higher than that.

Ironically, because all of our gas is refined in CA, we mighgt be spared the worst of it.... but they're predicting it may top out at $3.30 for regular out here.

I paid $3.39 for the cheap stuff on Sunday when we were camping. It is $3.02 most places here in Silicon Valley that I saw today. Ugh. I hope caltechgirl is right, the refineries are only an hour from me. Maybe that will help some.

I paid $2.53 today, but it was luck b/c the next station I passed it was $3.69.

anywhere from 2.79 - 3.05 ive seen. Speedway (whatever kind of gas station that is) had regular at 3.15

insane

OK, I got a little freaked reading all this, and knowing my tank was on empty, I decided to go get gas tonight. I lucked out and got $2.89. I will let you know what it is tomorrow. (I cant believe I was happy at $2.89!)

In Las Vegas it was $2.59. I did not look today but I have to fill up. I hope it does not get to $3.00. I am lucky, my drive to work is only about six miles.

This morning: $2.68. This afternoon: $2.73 and a huge line of cars.
