Daisy Day
I've got a parent meeting for all my Daisy troop parents today at 1030am. I just hope the weather holds out. I know I've got eleven girls in this troop and I am hoping to rope in a parent or two as additional assistants. My friend Liz is an assistant and so far, it's just the two of us. But, the bonus to running a Junior troop is using some of those girls for help as well. In fact, they can earn their Junior Aide awards.
I fear that I have a bit too much on my plate this year. I will need to be very organized and really on top of my game. I'm actually a little nervous about it all but I think (I hope!) that everything will turn out just fine.
I'm already looking forward to June!

I think we all feel this way right now - overscheduled, wondering how on earth we'll make it through the school year. Hopefully in a month, though, we'll all be adjusted to everything!

Just reading your blog, I know you'll be great! My daughter is grown now, but I did Daisys, Brownies, and Juniors. The Daisys and Brownies were fun and full of more spontaneous fun. The Juniors were tougher with more record keeping and always a challenge trying to be creative. Enjoy those easy years!

Do you know of any special needs children that are involved in troops? I'm thinking ahead for Dakota and I would like to get her involved in something that allowed her interaction with her "mainstream" peers but that wouldn't require her to necessarily speak all the time- kwim? Just curious if you knew of any autistic children who did scouts and troops.
