If you had to choose

Would you pick a new digital camera or a PDA? Keep in mind that the person who this is for uses a PDA religiously. But, this person also loves to take pictures as well.

Tough decision. Very tough decision.

::update:: Thanks for the comments so far. Some more info: the PDA is four year old and the camera is five years old. Please keep sending me your suggestions.

I would go witht he camera. A PDA is great, but doesnt record history that you will look back on. The camera will create memories.

Agreed. Go for the camera. Besides, if this person uses a PDA already then that would suggest they already have one. Unless the new one would be a considerably large upgrade then you should totally go for the camera without evening pondering it.

Alternatively, if the old PDA still has a good ebay market value, the new PDA could replace the old one and then the old one flogged to go towards getting a new camera. But I still say go for the camera! lol

Does the camera still shoot pictures? Then don't replace it.

If the technology on the PDA has improved that much, get it.

Just my two cents.

If they are both still in good working order, I'd pass on buying anything new.
Instead, I'd buy that water slide at Walmart!!! :-D

I'd go with the new camera. Since it is a year older than the PDA, and next year get a PDA! :-D

I'd go with the camera. Sooo many good uses for it, so many memories to capture.

Hmmmm...good question...but, I have to agree with what seems to be the favorite here...

The Camera... Camera's are good forever, no matter how old they get they are never REALLY obsolete...

Documenting life with a digital camera is much more fun then keeping track of stuff on your PDA anyway!

Easy one - a new digital camera. I am probably the last person in NYC clutching a Filofax.

I may have found you a happy medium. I'm not sure of your price range but here is the link anyways. Technology is great isn't it. Have fun!

I have a Treo that takes pictures, and I love it! The pictures aren't great, but there's a new Treo 650 out with a better camera. It's phone, pda and camera all in one :)

Being a person who uses a PDA and digital camera... I'd have to go with the new camera.
I think that the technology has changed more with the digital cameras than the PDAs.

Last year I treated myself to a Canon Powershot S400 digital elph. I love it... love it... love it...!!!

Hm... really tough call. yeah, i think I'm gonna go with the camera too. And, Canon digital Elphs are excellent. My MIL got me two years ago for Christmas, and it has been wonderful!

A new digital camera.

I too use a PDA religiously. The issue is that one has a very personal relationship with his PDA. It organizes a life. That is not to be taken lightly. A new unit would likely cause one to have re-adjust his PDA to accomodate new features, etc. While that often comes with additional features, it is one of those things the PDA user should select for himself. A gift should not be such a thing unless he has offered that he specifically wants unit A or B.
