Blog Info

According to Sasha, the piece will air on CNN Friday night 3/18 at 10pm. Whee!
The crew left about 30 minutes ago. They were all so very nice. I felt like a doofus at times but it was a lot of fun. I am somewhat apprehensive to watch myself on television. Eeek! I'll be on national television! :::screaming::

HI Kate...i saw you tonight on cnn and i was delighted to hear about your blog. Im an old homemaker...my husband and i met in highschool and today on the 21st we have been "going steady" since he gave me his letter pin in 1964. We have 3 daughters and one son, two living at home going to college and two out of the nest. I have a home packed full of 20 years of their stuff and a ton of memories. Its cozy, and rather than fix up and clear out all the clutter...i learned to use the computer by building homes in active worlds, and now doing research on stuff. All summer i reasearched the magnetic collar i bought for my dog from england...it worked well enough to take him off all arthritis pain medicine so he can still hike with the other 3 cockers. Then i bid for one for myself on ebay, and since wearing it last summer i have had no more hand and back pain(too many years of vacuuming, grooming dogs, and gardening!)I copied the magnet as they are expensive, by ordering magnets on line and putting them in old watches from my favorite decorating store(the arc..used stuff), and handed them out for folks to experiement with. Im still putting away xmas stuff and sewing the last finishing touches because of my obsessive research since christmas! This project was to find out why there are so many bible translations. Now, i have a bag full of all the "new translations" since we got married.... ready for the trash on the front porch, and 10 king james bibles i ordered from the book store (in 10 different colors)...each with a too expensive stuffed animal bookmark, to give the family for easter. After researching all the side effects of the "new" pharmaceutical drugs on the market i think this old version from 1611 is still the best medicine:) I remember many late mom nights dealing with my babies and no tv stations on. Im amazed at the changes thru these years of raising my kids...satilite tv, the information highway, cell phones. My family may not have ever seen me if i had all these distractions while they grew up because as they say....mom, youre obsessed and you need to turn the puter and tv off! That doesnt change....kids always want you to just belong to them:) My 84 year old dad just got set up with a puter and went on line yesterday and my mom hates the way it messes up their family room and doesnt want to even try it. I remember feeling that way at first. Now, i think id like to learn to blog, and i congratulate you and imagine you would never have thought youd be on cnn!!! Horray for you from an old mom in colorado!
