Question
For those of you who have children, I have a question for you -
What do you buy your children for Valentines Day?
Seriously. I have no idea what to get them. Do I even bother? We need to go to WalMart (again) tonight. I think I will just let them pick out a small thing. They love looking at the toys. I bet if I said "Go ahead, put it in the cart", their little heads would just explode with joy. LOL.

I don't have any children but my mom always got us little stuff for Valentine's Day. It was never anything major but she always got us a little something. (But my mom worked for Hallmark and this is the ultimate Hallmark holiday... :-D)
And my stepmother always gives me a little box of chocolate.

I don't have kids, but I think that would be an awesome idea! My mom still buys us stuff for Valentine's - just little stuff - even though we're all in our 30's.

I used to love how my dad bought me a single red rose every year! :) Made me feel grown up!

I get them each a couple of little toys and crafty items to do later in the day, the older two are getting a heart shaped lollipop and I will make them heart shaped pancakes for breakfast. I also write them a "love note" that I will put in their baby books for them to read when they are older. My mother did the same thing for me as a child and those little notes mean a lot to me so I thought I would carry on that tradition.

When my kids were young, I would get each of them a heart shaped balloon and hang it on their doorknob, when the were asleep, the night before. So they would find it first thing in the morning. I would also get them a small box of chocolates or a small stuffed animal.

We gave each a special outfit. The 3 yr old got a new pair of leotards for her tumbling class and the 8 1/2 yr old got a Lizzie McGuire sweatshirt. Past V-days were similar. Have fun shopping!

Being the father and husband, I'm the last to know, but I think my wife gets them some candy and I think I saw flash cards in the closet for the younger ones. I don't know what she is getting the older one, but I will find out when he opens it.

I don't really get the kidlets something special for Valentine's day. We go to the store and they pick out a box of Valentine's each, then (like last night) they sit and put their names on them, and fold them up and put them in a baggie for school the next day. Now school, that's where they have all the fun and get all the treats!
I might cave at the after-Valentine's sale though and get my daughter a stuffed bear 1/2 off. ;)

My parents always get us a box of Sweethearts and some other candy, and my mom makes cookies, and my dad makes valentines on the computer. (he's into graphic design stuff, so that's what he loves to do) We don't usually do big gifts, just homemade valentines, and lots and lots of candy from the after Valentine's Day sales! :)

I had flowers delivered for my wife. I also added a single rose for my daughter who is six. I told my son, who is five, that I did not get him any floweres and asked him if that was OK with him. At that time it was. When the flowers arrived, he started crying because he did not get anything. My wife pulled out a flower from her boquet and gave it to hime and he was happy. This if the first year that I have given them something.
