Did I also mention
that I hate dial-up? I have been trying to talk Mom into getting a cable modem but she has been balking due to the price. I keep telling her that it makes shopping online so much easier. Heh.

It's not that I don't have money, but work had it set up so I could dial in for free. But it just got to be too much of a PITA. So now I pay for the cable modem, and life is so much better!

I just talked my mom into getting cable modem and she loves it. I don't think she'll ever go back.

I'm still trying to talk my parents into getting a cable modem. They're stuck on dial-up, for no good reason that I can tell. I keep telling them that even DSL is better than dial-up...and they'd get to use their phone while online! But parents can be a bit...stuck in their ways sometimes. I feel for you.

Broadband is great. I have three PCs that share an IP, we can all be on at the same time. Can download BIG files 15MB+, where with dial-up it would time-out. And best, I can telework over a VPN to get to my company's intranet. I love sitting in a t-shirt and shorts doing my work from home!

Do you have a seperate phone line plus dial up?? Together I bet they cost as much or more.
