Sad night

I just got home from the viewing. I arrived at 705pm and there were at least 200 people ahead of me in line. I'd say that there was another 300 that arrived after me. It was incredible - all the people that were there to pay respects. A lot of teenagers from the local high school. Michael was the captain of the soccer team, a member of the lacross team and very well liked. His dad is a cop in town. My neighbor saw me in line around 820pm. I wasn't even close to getting inside for another 45 minutes. She brought me inside - essentially cutting 200 people. It was an open casket. Girls were sobbing, boys were quietly wiping their eyes. I was ok, even after seeing Michael in the casket. What made me cry was the amazing amout of flowers. They were beautiful. No - they were magnificent. There had to have been 50 bouquets, ranging in sizes. The PBA, the soccer team, the lacross team, the cousins, aunts and uncles, friends, businesses.
I did notice that there were a lot of teenagers at the funeral home with no parent(s) in sight. WTF is that? Since when is it ok to drop your kid off at the funeral home? :::sigh:::
I'm gonna go hug my kids and tuck them into bed.

makes me sad to think of a life so young being gone... we all have to remember "God's ways are not ours, He does all things in His time."
