Pink Panther
The girls and I are watching The Pink Panther Strikes Again. Holy ****. I have forgotten just how funny Peter Sellers can be. I am hysterical. M is cracking up - watching Peter Sellers trip or fall down a flight of stairs. I forgot there is one scene where Clouseau goes into a gay bar when he is shadowing a suspect. The suspect, as it turns out, is part of the stage show. He comes out in drag, singing some slow romantic song. I walked into the kitchen, laughing, and mentioned to P that I am a bad mom because I am allowing my children to watch a drag show! He says don't worry about it - they probably don't even know what the heck they are watching! LOL!
Great quotes:
[After Clouseau accidentally reduces a piano to a pile of splinters.]
Mrs. Leverlilly: You've ruined that piano!!
Clouseau: What is the price of one piano compared to the terrible crime that's been committed here.
Mrs. Leverlilly: But that's a priceless Steinway!
Clouseau: Not anymore!
and
Clouseau: Does your dog bite?
Hotel Clerk: No.
Clouseau: [bowing down to pet the dog] Nice doggie.
[Dog barks and bites Clouseau in the hand]
Clouseau: I thought you said your dog did not bite!
Hotel Clerk: That is not my dog.
and
Francois: Do you know what kind of a bomb it was?
Clouseau: The exploding kind.
HA!

That IS funny! I guess I have to watch them now as an adult. My mom dragged me to one of the Pink Panther movies as a kid and I was expecting a cartoon... I was bummed out.

If you like Peter Sellers...may I recommend a movie? One of Mike's favorite movies is "Being There"...Sellers stars as sort of a "Forrest Gump" type character, who gets involved in all sorts of major stuph, without even knowing it!
Buy or rent this movie...you will love it! :-)

Heh.
We have a copy of The Pink Panther. There's something infinitely silly about Clouseau that transcends age.
It's beautiful.
