Calling all fish tank owners
Ok - our fish tank is getting a bit funky. There is some algae that is starting to grow along the glass. We have started to cut back the amount of food from 2x's a day down to 1. We have also kept the tank light off for longer periods of time. It was normally on for almost 16 hours a day. Oh - and the live plants are also looking funky as well.
Any ideas or suggestions?

I'm sorry about the fish funk. I don't really have any advice except what the fishy guy tells us. He had us keep our light on during day hours, and off at night. Also for something like every 10 gallons of tank, to have an algae eating fish of some sort. Or, was it 20 gallons. I can't remember :boggled:
I hope you were able to pull something useful from that. Good luck!

Oh, and there were drops we added to the water every so often. Some sort of water conditioner I think? I forget. The fish weren't my idea, so I don't have to take care of them. ;) Good luck, again!

I had guppies, but the tank was really tiny, like 1 or 2 gallons and it was impossible to clean and maintain. Someday I will try again. That's what I say about Bonzai trees too. heh

Wish I had some advice for you, but we killed all our fish somehow! We were so upset that we haven't bought anymore.
